The study targeted students undertaking a 2-week, direct practical clinical training course at a 4-year university. During the course, an improvement was seen in the students attitude, recognition and behavior as nurses. Moreover, from the teaching point of view, these 4 cases studied in 6 situations could be considered to be typical. In order to abstract meaning from this teaching-learning process and clarify a structure, we put together a teaching-learning process analysis format. Our analysis was then carried out based on this. The results were as follows: The teacher interacts with the students in such a way that the behavior of the students toward the patients constitutes proper nursing care. The teacher freely put themselves in the place of the nurses, patients and students and compares the view of nursing and expression ability of the students with their own. This, then, enables the students to assess their own behavior from the patients viewpoint and evaluate themselves as nurses. We were able to visualize and formulate the structure outlined in No.1 above (Structure of Teaching in Clinical Practical Training). In addition, we considered what kind of view of teaching would be appropriate in order to promote the development of nursing skills in the context of practical clinical training and formulated a Student Practical Clinical Training Model.
